BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Senior left-hander Braulio Torres-Perez (Auburn, Wash./Green River CC) has been named North Star Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference.

Torres-Perez set a tone on the mound in his start for the Bruins last week. He fired a no-hitter in a 23-0 trouncing of St. Ambrose University at the Warner University Tournament in Lake Wales, Fla. The game –scheduled for seven innings – saw Torres-Perez dominate from start to finish. He struck out 10 batters and walked just two to record the no-no and push the BU winning streak to four games.

With the victory, he improved to 4-0 on the year and lowered his ERA to a tidy 1.47 in 36.2 innings of work. The 12th-ranked Bruins currently stand at 17-4 on the season.

Bellevue plays a four-game set with Northwestern College this weekend. BU travels to Orange City, Iowa for a 3 p.m. double-header on Friday. The Red Raiders return the trip the next day with a 1 p.m. twin-bill at Westgate Field.
