PITTSBURGH, Kan. -- In a reunion of sorts between long-time MCAC rivals, the 12th-ranked Bellevue University baseball team got the better of (RV) York College on Friday afternoon in non-conference action. Ben McKendall tossed a complete game two-hitter and BU staked themselves to a 4-0 first inning lead en route to an 8-0 victory over the Panthers.

Bellevue improves to 6-1 with the win while York dips to 6-4 following their second straight loss. The Bruins are now a perfect 6-0 against teams that are either ranked or receiving votes on the season.

McKendall carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning until Josh Burgener broke it up with a single to left. On the afternoon, McKendall (3-0, 0.75) logged eightscoreless innings, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out seven.

As a team, BU pounded out _ hits on the afternoon. Colton Nash, Jake Browne, Derik Bontempo, and Ross Feeley all had multi-hit efforts for the Bruins who have plated 18 runs in their last two games.

The Bruins struck early and often, plating four runs in the opening frame. Bontempo and Browne both recorded RBI-singles in the inning while Matt Evans sandwiched a two-run double between the run-scoring hits.

BU wasted no time adding to their lead, scoring an addition run in the second inning courtesy of a run-scoring single by Nash that brought home Elijah Dickerson.

Browne provided a pair of insurance runs in the fifth, jacking Bellevue's first home run of the season - a two-run shot - to extend the Bruin lead to 7-0.

Bellevue tacked on one more in the seventh on a base-hit by Trevor Jones that scored Kevin Rodfiguez who was pinch-running for Browne.

Bellevue and York are back it shortly with game two of their double-header slated for a 2:30 p.m. start.
