BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue baseball team, under head coach Duane Monlux, has announced today the signing of Kameron Miner (Lacey, Wash./Edmonds CC/Capital HS) to a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at Bellevue in the fall of 2015.
Miner, a 5-foot 11-inch, 230 pound southpaw, played two seasons at Edmonds Community College in Washington. He was named a 2015 NWAC Scholar-Athlete.
Miner was outstanding on the mound this past season for Edmonds. Despite a deceiving 2-3 record he posted a 3.02 earned run average and limited opponents to a 1.10 WHIP. He also recorded a 2:1 strikeout to walk ratio in 44.2 innings of work spanning 10 appearances, including seven starts.
In his two seasons at Edmonds Miner appeared in 19 games, making eight starts. He finished his two-year career with a 3-4 record, 2.36 ERA, 35 strikeouts, and a WHIP of 1.11 in 64.2 innings of work.
Coach Monlux on Miner:
"We were looking to add left-handed pitching for our 2016 recruiting class. We think we found a very solid arm in Kameron. He was part of a very good Edmonds team that finished 73-20 over a two-year span. He is a good student and solid pitcher. He did very well in the NWAC North Region, which is probably the toughest region in the NWAC. He has been used both as a starter and a reliever. We expect big things from Kameron."
Bellevue went 46-15 (18-6 MCAC) this past season while winning the final MCAC Tournament and hosting the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round. The Bruins reached the final game in the Opening Round Tournament before falling to Tabor College.
