Short becomes third signee in 2024-25 recruiting class
June 06, 2024Bruin head softball coach Michala Cimino announced today the third signee in BU's 2024-25 recruiting class with the addition of infielder Savannah Short (Independence, Mo./Kansas City Kansas CC/Fort Osage HS). Short will continue her academic and athletic pursuits at Bellevue University beginning in the fall of 2024. -
Cimino signs JC transfer pitcher Mariah Unverzagt
June 04, 2024Bellevue University head softball coach Michala Cimino announced the signing of 5-8 pitcher Mariah Unverzagt (Papillion, Neb./ Johnson Country CC/Papillion-LaVists South HS) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at BU beginning in the fall of 2024. -
Cunningham named third-team All-American

Bruins down St. Xavier in NAIA Opening Round; Madonna up next
May 15, 2024The fifth-seeded Bellevue University softball team advanced at the NAIA National Championship Opening Round - Sioux Center Bracket with a 6-4 victory over fourth-seeded St. Xavier University, avenging an earlier loss to the Cougars in the tournament. The Bruins (34-21) will now play second-seeded Madonna University tonight at 7 p.m. in an elimination contest. The game was originally scheduled for 3 p.m. but was delayed due to rain in the area. -

May 02, 2024Junior pitcher/designated player/outfielder Katie Cunningham headlined the 2024 all-North Star Athletic Association softball teams as announced today in conjunction with the 2024 NSAA Softball Tournament. Cunningham was named both the NSAA Player of the Year and NSAA Pitcher of the Year. Five Bruins were named to the first team, while two garnered second-team honors, and another three were named to the NSAA Gold Glove Team. In addition, Michala Cimino was named the NSAA Coach of the Year for the fifth time in her career. -
