Rodriguez earns NSAA Player of the Week honors

BISMARCK, N.D. -- Sophomore catcher Atiana Rodriguez has been named the North Star Athletic Association Player of the Week for her performances in the Bruins' six games last week, including a four-game conference sweep over Viterbo University. 

Rodriguez had four multi-hit games, going 12-for-19 on the week with three doubles, three triples, a .632 batting average, and a 1.105 slugging percentage. She is currently riding an 8-game hitting streak.

In BU's 9-2 win over the V-Hawks on April 20, Rodriguez went 4-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. 

Rodriguez, who raised her batting average by 43 points last week, leads the team with a .373 batting average, nine doubles, and four triples. 

In the latest NSAA statistics, she leads the conference in triples (4), is fifth in doubles (9), and seventh in batting average (.373).  

The Bruins will host the College of St. Mary on Tuesday, April 23, at 6 p.m. at Roy Smith Field. The game has been designated as an NFCA Strikeout Cancer event.
