OMAHA, Neb. -- With the Bellevue University softball team leading 3-0 in the bottom of the first inning, heavy rain forced the cancellation of today's North Star Athletic Association doubleheader with Dakota State University at Roy Smith Field.
The league-leading Bruins ended the regular season with a 30-18 overall record and a 19-3 conference mark. Dakota State is 11-28 overall and 8-14 in league play.
The Bruins will travel to Dickinson, N.D., on May 3-5 to compete in the NSAA Tournament. Times and pairings will be announced on Monday. As regular-season champions, the Bruins will receive a first-round bye in the seven-team double-elimination tournament.
