  • Christians signs first athlete in 2024 Class, Xavier Mallow

    Bellevue University head cross country coach Craig Christians announced today the first signee for the class of 2024, Xavier Mallow (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-LaVista South HS). Mallow will begin his academic and athletic careers at BU in the fall of 2024.

  • Marcoux records Bruin best National Cross Country Meet finish

    Richard Marcoux was just the third Bruin to advance to the national championship in the six-year history of the program. His finish today in 100th place of 328 finishers was over 100 places better than the previous best. He also established history two weeks earlier as the first Bruin to win the North Star Athletic Association men's individual title.
  • Marcoux captures Bruins' first men's NSAA Cross Country title

    Led by the North Star Athletic Association's Runner of the Year and meet champion Richard Marcoux, the Bruins' men's cross country team raced to a third-place team finish at Friday's NSAA Championship hosted by Viterbo. Held on the grounds of Maple Grove Venues outside LaCrosse, the meet was held under overcast skies, light wind, and temperatures in the 40's, making for perfect autumn running weather.
  • Bruins battle at Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic

    A perfect day for cross country greeted nearly 600 runners at the first Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic on Saturday morning at Mahoney State Park. Meet hosts Doane and College of St. Mary assembled a field of nationally ranked NAIA teams and brought them to Nebraska for the first time. The Bruin cross country team used the occasion for one final tune-up race prior to the NSAA championship in two weeks and came away with two personal bests.

    For the third time this season and the sixth time in his BU career, senior Richard Marcoux has been named the North Star Athletic Association Cross Country Runner of the Week for his performance at last week's Charger Invite hosted by Briar Cliff University. 
  • Bruin runners set personal bests at Briar Cliff Invite

    Perfect weather conditions and a fast course contributed to personal best times at Saturday's Charger Invite hosted by Briar Cliff at the Adams Nature Preserve course. Every Bruin who competed set a lifetime best at their respective distances: eight kilometers (4.97 miles) for the men and six kilometers (3.73 miles) for the women. Sunny skies, a light breeze and temperatures near 50 created ideal running conditions over the hard-packed crushed limestone loop around the preserve.

  • 12 Bruin programs named NAIA Scholar Teams

    A total of twelve Bellevue University athletic programs were honored as NAIA Scholar Teams in an announcement made today by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The NAIA made the announcement as part of its annual NAIA National Awards Day on Friday. The day recognizes the association's highest individual honors and achievements of NAIA student-athletes, administrators, and coaches.

  • Bruin Cross Country Opens Under the lights at Augustana

    The Bruin men's and women's cross country squads opened their 2023 season on Friday night in Sioux Falls with their inaugural entry into the Augustana Twilight Cross Country Meet. Thirty-seven teams from NCAA Division I to junior college ran under the lights at Yankton Trails Park. Conditions were warm even after sundown, with temperatures in the mid-80s and a warm south wind.

    The Bellevue University cross country teams, under the direction of head coach Craig Christians, added three new members to the team for the fall 2023 cross country season. New to the team this spring are Alicia Rivera Camargo and Hillary Kipngetich, and they have joined the Bruin outdoor track squad. Recently signed to the team for the fall of 2023 is Robbie Siford of Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln High School.

  • Marcoux Has His First Podium Finish as a Bruin

    Richard Marcoux had his first podium finish (won an individual award) as a Bruin at Saturday’s Mount Marty Invitational held at Yankton’s Fox Run golf course. By the start of the men’s race at 11:15, temperatures had climbed to near 70 making conditions warm for late October cross country. The sunny skies and a light breeze greeted the 145 men who toed the starting line for the eight-kilometer event. Marcoux ran his way into the Top Twenty award field, finishing in that final podium position (20th ) running 26:41.0, just fifteen seconds off his best set at last week’s Platte River Rumble.

    Every Bruin runner set a seasonal or personal best at today's inaugural Platte River Rumble hosted by Creighton University and UNO. The meet was held under fall-like conditions with overcast skies and temperatures in the fifties over the undulating two-kilometer loop at Mahoney State Park.

    Junior Richard Marcoux earned North Star Athletic Association Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week accolades for his performance at last week's Briar Cliff Invitational. It marked the second time this season that Marcoux has earned the weekly honor.

    Three men represented the Bruins at Saturday's Briar Cliff Cross Country Invite held at the Adams Nature Preserve in North Sioux City, S.D. Pleasant fall conditions and a light breeze were on tap for the 95 runners contesting the men's eight-kilometer (4.97 miles) race over the crushed rock trail of the preserve.

    Junior Richard Marcoux lowered his lifetime best for eight kilometers at today's Greeno/Dirksen cross country invitational hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan at Mahoney Park in Lincoln. Overcast conditions and temperatures in the 70's and an exceptionally strong field created an environment for fast times. Marcoux recorded a time of 27:05.3 to set a personal best as he finished in 133rd place in the field of 318 finishers.
  • Marcoux is top BU finisher in his Bruin Cross Country debut

    Bruin junior Richard Marcoux, a transfer from North Iowa Area CC, was the top finisher at Friday’s Bill Buxton Invitational. He narrowly missed a Top Ten podium finish by a scant 0.1 seconds, getting nipped at the line by a Loras College runner at the finish line.
