Christians signs first athlete in 2024 Class, Xavier Mallow

Bellevue University head cross country coach Craig Christians announced today the first signee for the class of 2024, Xavier Mallow (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-LaVista South HS). Mallow will begin his academic and athletic careers at BU in the fall of 2024.

Mallow, who prepped at Papillion-LaVista South High School under coach Shannon Stenger, finished 20th at the 2023 Nebraska Class A Cross Country Championships and was a member of the Titans' third-place team.

His career best in the 5,000-meter run is 16:09, and his top mark in the 1,600 meters is 4:33.83.

Head Coach Craig Christians: "We're really excited about adding Xavier to the group. He's going to make an immediate impact, and I see a high ceiling for him with some good natural speed and a strong desire to improve."

The 2023 Bruins finished in third place at the North Star Athletic Association Championships, and senior Richard Marcoux became the first Bruin male to win the individual title as he qualified for the 2023 NAIA National Championships.
