Kelli Secord Cheshier played softball for two seasons (1999-2000) at Bellevue for then-Coach, and current Athletic Director, Ed Lehotak.

Along with fellow inductee Kari Witherspoon Gillett, Cheshier became one of the first All-Americans in the softball program’s history, earning first-team honors in her senior season. Also, during her senior season, she became just the second Bruin in softball team history to earn first-team all-MCAC honors in back-to-back seasons. In her first year with Bellevue, Cheshier was honored as the MCAC’s Newcomer of the Year following a terrific debut season.

Despite playing just half of her collegiate career at Bellevue, her name remains consistently visible throughout the BU softball record book. She ranks among the top 20 all-time in program history in 44 categories, including hitting and pitching.

Among her most significant offensive statistics, she ranks: fourth in career batting average (.409), fourth in career on-base percentage (.466), seventh in career slugging percentage (.694), eighth in career extra-base hits (56), and tied for 10th in career RBIs (99).

In the pitching circle, she remains among the program’s elite in numerous categories, ranking: first in career winning percentage (.755, 37-12), second in career ERA, 1.40, fourth in career WHIP (1.042), and 10th in career wins (37).

Cheshier currently resides in Omaha, Neb., with her husband, Eric, and their two children, Cyrus and Haley. Following her softball career at Bellevue, Cheshier joined the coaching staff and is now entering her 16th season as an assistant coach, where she specializes in working with the pitching staff, player development, and signal calling.
