Tim Stutheit began his illustrious Bellevue University baseball career in 1989 under head coach Mike Evans.

During his career with the Bruins, Tim became Bellevue University’s first-ever NAIA All-American in any sport while setting several school records and leading BU to four-straight NAIA Region III Tournament appearances. 

Tim still holds four school records, including 169 career runs scored, 216 career hits and 81 career walks, as well as single-season on-base percentage of .578.

The Bruins averaged over 42 wins per season during Tim’s four years in a BU uniform.

Tim is the only Bellevue University student-athlete to ever be named the school’s Male Athlete of the Year twice, as he earned the honor in both 1991 and 1992.

An excellent student, Tim was a two-time NAIA Academic All-American as a junior and senior. He earned his degree from Bellevue in accounting and business administration.

Tim was recognized as the top small college male athlete in the state of Nebraska when he was honored as the Omaha World-Herald’s State College Athlete of the Year as a senior.

Tim also had the opportunity to represent the United States when he was selected to participate in the 1991 Presidential Cup games in Seoul, South Korea as part of the NAIA All-Star Team.

Tim was the first player from Bellevue University to be drafted by Professional baseball after he was selected in the 48th round by the Chicago Cubs organization. He won the 1992 Appalachian League batting title with a .338 average

He is currently employed as a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and has two daughters, Kate and Emily.
