Gary Blum was a three-year member of the Bellevue men’s basketball team, playing for the Bruins from the 1981-82 season through the 1983/84 campaign. His career was highlighted by helping the Bruins qualify for the 1981/82 NAIA District XI Tournament.

He is one of just two Bellevue student-athletes to twice earn Bellevue University Athlete of the Year honors, doing so in both 1982/83 and 1983/84. Blum joins fellow Hall of Famer Tim Stutheit in sharing that distinction.

Over his final two seasons, he scored 867 points and grabbed 426 rebounds for averages of 18.8 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. He hit on 58.7 percent of his field-goal attempts and led the team in both scoring and rebounding in both the 1982/83 and 1983/84 seasons.

Blum was a two-time Nebraska Athletic Conference (NAC) first-team selection and was named the NAC Most Valuable Player in his senior season.
