  • Six honored with major awards at 48th Annual BU Athletics Banquet

    Eve Fountain (volleyball) and Madison Nelson (cross country/distance track) were named the co-Female Athletes of the Year. Andy Wilkinson (men's socder) and Elijah Johnson (baseball) were the co-Male Athletes of the Year. Tylah Saifoloi (women's golf) and Tibor Stankovic (men's soccer) were honored as the Academic Athletes of the Year.
  • Minnesota setter Jada Nunn signs with BU Volleyball for 2022

    Bellevue University head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced today the signing of 5-10 setter Jada Nunn (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) to a letter of intent to continue her athletic and academic careers at BU beginning in the fall of 2022. 
  • Siedlik signs South Dakota's Hawkey for 2022

    The newest Bruin is 5-10 outside hitter Ryen Hawykey (Tea, S.D./Tea Area HS). She will begin her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue University beginning in the fall of 2022.

    Bellevue University head volleyball Trish Siedlik announced today the signing of 6-1 middle blocker Chloe Cloud (Grand Island, Neb./Grand Island Central Catholic HS) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at BU beginning in the fall of 2022. 
  • Galas highlights five BU selections on All-Midlands Volleyball Team

    Junior setter Olivia Galas was named the honorary captain of the 2021 Omaha World-Herald all-Midlands Volleyball team, highlighting five Bruin selections on the annual squad. The OWH all-Midlands team honors the top players from NAIA and NCAA Division III programs within the state of Nebraska. Freshman outside hitter Eve Fountain was also named to the first team. Honorable mention selections from BU included junior outside hitter Sierra Athen, freshman middle blocker Haley Fleischman, and freshman libero Taylan Keefer. 
  • Bruins ink North Platte's Polk

    Bellevue University head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced today the third signee in the class of 2022 with the addition of 5-10 OH/MB McKenzie Polk (North Platte, Neb./North Platte HS). Polk will begin her academic and athletic careers at BU beginning in the fall of 2022.

    Bruin head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced today the signing of 5-10 middle blocker/rightside hitter Liz Carbaugh (Red Oak, Iowa/Red Oak HS) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and volleyball careers at Bellevue University beginning in the fall of 2022. 
  • Four Bruins earn All-American honors

    Junior setter Olivia Galas (Bellevue, Neb.), freshman outside hitter Eve Fountain (Omaha, Neb.), junior outside hitter Sierra Athen (Red Oak, Iowa), and freshman middle blocker (Haley Fleischman) all earned NAIA and AVCA All-American honors in an announcement made today by both organizations. Galas and Fountain earned first-team honors while Athen was named to the third team. Fleischman garnered honorable mention accolades.

    After guiding the Bruins to their best finish in the NAIA National Tournament since the 2000 season, junior setter Olivia Galas was honored by being named to the all-tournament team at the 2021 NAIA Volleyball National Championships.

    Four Bellevue University volleyball student-athletes earned AVCA all-North Central Region honors in an announcement made by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Bruins who earned all-Region accolades included junior outside hitter Sierra Athen, freshman outside hitter Eve Fountain, junior setter Olivia Galas, and freshman middle blocker Haley Fleischman.

    The 11th-ranked BU volleyball team saw their historic season come to a close on Thursday with a 3-0 loss to No. 1-ranked, and undefeated, Jamestown in the quarterfinals of the NAIA National Tournament.

    Bellevue volleyball knocked off No. 8-ranked and top-seeded Corban University 3-1 to reach the NAIA National Tournament Quarterfinals for the first time since 2000.
  • Bruins avenge early season defeat to win Pool Play Opener

    Eve Fountain recorded a match-high 17 kills on .273 hitting to guide Bellevue to their first opening match win at the NAIA National Tournament since defeating Embry-Riddle in 2012.

    The Bruins' opponents in Pool H include No. 8 Corban University and No. 16 Ottawa (Ariz.) University. Bellevue advanced to the final site with a 3-0 sweep over Edward Waters University on Saturday at Bellevue West High School.

    Led by outside hitters Eve Fountain and Sierra Athen, the Bellevue University volleyball team swept visiting Edward Waters University 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-20) Saturday afternoon in an Opening Round matchup at Bellevue West High School.

    Bellevue (23-7), ranked No. 11 in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll, earned an at-large bid and will host Edward Waters University (24-6) on Saturday, Nov. 20 for an opening-round matchup at 4:00 p.m. The match will be played at Bellevue West High School. 
  • Viterbo outlasts Bruins for NSAA Volleyball Title

    Second-ranked and top-seeded Viterbo University overcame a 2-1 deficit to record a 3-2 (25-21, 23-25, 24-26, 25-21, 15-7) victory over second-seeded Bellevue University in the championship match of the North Star Athletic Association Tournament Saturday afternoon at the Watertown Civic Arena. 
  • BU advances to championship match with 3-1 win over Trojans

    Outside hitters Sierra Athen and Eve Fountain and rightside hitter Jacki Apel combined for 38 kills to lead the No. 2-seeded Bellevue University volleyball team to a 3-1 (18-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-15) victory over No. 3 Dakota State University Friday evening in the semifinals of the North Star Athletic Association Tournament being played at the Watertown Civic Arena. 
  • 4 Bruins named to all-NSAA squad; 2 pick up major awards

    The Bellevue University volleyball squad landed four members on the all-North Star Athletic Association first team in an announcement made tonight in conjunction with the NSAA Volleyball Tournament. In addition, junior Olivia Galas was named the NSAA Setter of the Year for the fourth time in her career and freshman middle blocker  Haley Fleischman earned NSAA Freshman of the Year honors.  First-team all-conference members from BU included: Galas, Fleischman, freshman outside hitter Eve Fountain, and junior outside hitter Sierra Athen. In addition, junior middle blocker Sienna Black garnered second-team recognition.

    For the fifth time this season and the 24th time in her career, junior All-American Olivia Galas has been named the North Star Athletic Association's Setter of the Week for her performances last week in a pair of road matches to end the regular season.

    The 11th-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team ended the 2021 regular season with a convincing 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-14) sweep at Waldorf University in North Star Athletic Association action Saturday afternoon at the Hanson Fieldhouse. 
  • Bruins drop five-set heartbreaker at No. 2 Viterbo

    Second-ranked Viterbo University extended its winning streak to 27 matches with a dramatic come-from-behind five-set victory over No. 11-ranked Bellevue University Friday night in North Star Athletic Association action at the R.W. Beggs Sr. Gymnasium. VU battled back from a two-set deficit to earn the win, taking the match 19-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-20, 19-17.

    The eighth-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team took over sole possession of second place in the North Star Athletic Association standings with a convincing 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-12) sweep at Valley City State University Friday night at Graichen Gymnasium. 
  • Bruins split matches at Grand View Classic

    The No. 8-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team stepped out of conference play on Friday and split a pair of matches at the Grand View Classic. The Bruins dropped the opener to host No. 24 Grand View 3-1 (25-19, 25-17, 17-25, 25-23) before rebounding with a four-set win over Oklahoma City University (18-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-18).
