Indiana Wesleyan downs Bruins, 2-0

Mishawaka, Ind -- Indiana Wesleyan University used two second-half goals to post a 2-0 victory over Bellevue University in men's soccer action Saturday afternoon in the Bethel (Ind.) College Classic. 

The Bruins (1-6-1) will host 13th-ranked Hastings College at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Tranquility Park. The match will benefit Wounded Warriors Family Support.

IWU improved to 5-1-1 on the season with the shutout. 

Corey Lopez scored the first goal of the match in the 58th minute. Geoff Bowman was credited with the assist. 

The Wildcats doubled their lead with a goal by Keaton Albert at 68:01. Albert stole the ball, dribbled and shot from 18 yards out and found the upper right corner of the net for a 2-0 advantage.

Luke Baxter recorded two saves in the loss. 

IWU outshot Bellevue 13-5 and held a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal.
