BELLEVUE, Neb. - Junior Symone Faulkner (Denver, Col.) has been named MCAC Volleyball Hitter of the Week as announced by the conference. This marks the second week in a row that Faulkner has won the honor and the fifth time in her career.
This past weekend Faulkner starred for the Bruins, piling up 44 kills (in 14 sets) while hitting at a terrific .443 clip. She also contributed a block solo and 10 block assists defensively as Bellevue won three of the four matches they played on the week. For her efforts, Faulkner was named to the all-tournament team at the Clarke University Tournament.
Following a lengthy losing streak to open the season the Bruins have gotten on track, winning 11 of their last 12 matches, and now sit at 11-12 on the season.
The volleyball team will return to the hardwood on Wednesday, Oct. 1 when they host in-state foe Hastings College at 7:00 p.m. at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
