Bruins finish regular season with sweep of Haskell

BELLEVUE, Neb. --  Kali Schnacker and Caitlyn Rueth both pounded eight kills to lead the 21st-ranked Bellevue University volleyball team to a convincing 25-11, 25-6, 25-14 sweep over Haskell Indian Nations University in MCAC action Friday night at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. 

The Bruins, who have won five-straight matches, finished the regular season with a 27-6 overall record and a 10-1 conference mark. Haskell falls to 5-26 overall and 3-8 in the conference standings.

Schnacker hit .583 on the night while Rueth connected at a .412 hitting clip. 

Jordan Broady directed the BU attack to a .425 hitting percentage on the night, dishing out 34 assists, while adding seven kills of her own on .667 hitting. 

Meghan Evans paced the Bruin defense with a match-high 16 digs and Bellevue held the Indians to a -.049 hitting percentage. 

The Bruins, who never trailed in the match, hit an impressive .684 in the second frame, collecting 13 kills with no errors on 19 swings for BU's most lopsided win of the year at 25-6. 

Bellevue will compete in the MCAC Tournament next Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11-12 in Point Lookout, Mo. on the campus of College of the Ozarks. Tournament pairings and times will be announced on Monday.
