ANKENY, Iowa -- The Bellevue University women's golf team is currently in first place after the first day of competition in the Grand View Viking Classic after shooting a team score of 312 on Monday at the Otter Creek Golf Course.
The Bruins lead second place Grand View by 14 strokes.
Christina VonRiesen led the Bruins with a 2-over par score of 73 and is in first place in the individual standings. Ana Laura Gomez is in second with a 76. Jayme Harmelink is tied for fourth with a 79. Taylor Byers shot an 84, and Dawn Florrance rounded out the Bruin scoring with an 86.
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
