BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University softball team's MCAC doubleheader with York College scheduled for 1 p.m. today has been postponed due to the rainy weather forecast in the Omaha metro area.
The two teams will now battle on Tuesday (April 21) beginning at 5 p.m. at Hall of Fame Fields in Bellevue. The Bruins' three seniors, Shelby Kindelin, Ashley Gigax and Taylor Mohler will all be honored in a short ceremony in between games.
Bellevue is scheduled to play College of St. Mary on Sunday (April 19) in a noon conference twinbill at Hall of Fame Fields.
Note about Sunday's Doubleheader: The two clubs will be sporting special jerseys for the occasion with Bellevue wearing gold in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness and CSM in grey for Brain Cancer Awareness.
The first pitch will be thrown out by honorary Bruin Oliver Fangman who is in a fight of his own after being diagnosed with the disease, and the softball team is hoping to mark this event as a special day for Oliver while also raising money for a great cause.
Admission is $5.00 per person and all proceeds from the day will go to the Team Jack Foundation.
