BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Seniors Taylor Mohler and Ashley Gigax were recognized as the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, for the second straight week as announced by the conference.
Mohler posted a 2-0 record and recorded a save in a perfect 4-0 week for the Bruins at the MCAC South Crossover event. In 13.0 innings in the circle Mohler allowed just four hits and issued six free passes while recording almost half (19) of her 39 outs via strikeout.
Gigax has now hit safely in 21 of the team's last 22 games. She drove in 10 runs on the week and had an impressive 1.231 slugging pct. in helping the Bruins open conference play with a 4-0 record.
The Bruins, receiving votes in the latest poll, are now 18-8-1 on the season and sit alone atop the MCAC standings with a 4-0 record in league play.
