Duo named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

GULF SHORES, Ala. -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that a total of 326 softball student-athletes have been named 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Softball Scholar-Athletes. Two Bruins were named to the exclusive team, including seniors Jessica Guyle and Allie Bartley.

Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.
 
The Bruins finished the 2011 season with a 32-19 overall record, a 12-0 MCAC mark, the MCAC regular season and tournament titles, and the program's second-straight appearance at the NAIA Softball National Championship.
