BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team began the signing season with the signing ofTaariq Ganga (Cape Town, South Africa) to a letters of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at Bellevue.
Ganga, a goalkeeper, is transferring to Bellevue after playing three years at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa. Ganga is planning to major in Graphic Design at BU. Ganga was an all-conference selection and a three-year starter for the Lakers, starting 46 games and posting 16 shutouts, a .776 save percentage with 187 saves, and a 1.16 goals against average and helping lead the team to a 41-15-2 record during his time on campus.
Ganga, who represented South Africa on their National Team at the U-17 level, is Bellevue's first announced signee in the 2023 recruiting class.
The Bruins won their third-straight CAC Tournament and reached their third-straight NAIA National Tournament this fall, qualifying for the fourth time in five seasons, and ninth time overall.
