Bruins announce three additional soccer signings

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head men's soccer coach Mark Heath-Preston announced today that Jose Boggio (Lecheria, Venezuela), Romeo Paparesta (Bari, Italy), and Alvaro Moros Sanz (Castellon de la Plana, Spain) have all signed Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall.

Jose Boggio attended Our Lady of Lourdes II in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela before spending the last two years at Iowa Lakes Community College. While at Iowa Lakes, Boggio was a two-time All-America selection and team captain as a sophomore, helping the Lakers to the National Tournament in each of his seasons on campus. He played his club soccer with Deportivo Anzoatiegui for coach Carlos Xavier Ahumada in his native Venezuela.

Romeo Paparesta attended Liceo Scientifico Scacchi Bari and comes to Bellevue from Fidelizzare Andria of Italy's Serie C. He was most recently playing for the Fidelis Andria U19 team.

Alvaro Moros Sanz (Castellon de la Plana, Spain) attended Universidad Jaume I in his hometown and played his club soccer with the U19 side for CD Castellon. While with CD Castellon, Moros Sanz was coached by Alejandro Jimenez.

Today's signings join previously announced signees Matias Daniel (Santiago, Chile), Fletcher Hedge (Beccles, England), Dan Smith (Hadleigh, England), Aghiles Ould Lamara (Nancy, France), Jack Armstrong (Newcastle, England), and Bradley Ironside (Kings Lynn, England) in the Bruins' 2022 recruiting class.

Bellevue concluded its 2021 season with a 16-3-2 overall record, matching the 2005 and 2020 squads for the second-highest win total in program history. The Bruins won their second-straight CAC Tournament Championship to qualify for the NAIA National Tournament for the third time in four seasons, hosting for the second time.
