LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University senior Toby Millward (Kings Lynn, England) has been named the Continental Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, as announced by the organization's communication department.

Millward scored twice and netted a pair of assists to help Bellevue to a pair of wins last week as the Bruins mounted a furious comeback to rally for a 3-2 overtime triumph at William Penn on Wednesday before rolling to a 6-0 victory over Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday. Defensively, Millward helped BU limit their opposition to 13 shots and just three shots on goal during the week.

In the win over William Penn, Millward delivered the game-winning assist on Alvaro Capra's strike with a beautiful ball played in over top of the Statesmen defense.

He followed up by scoring twice and assisting a third goal in the win over Iowa Wesleyan. Millward scored the second and fifth goals and assisted the final goal of the night as Bellevue beat the stripes off the Tigers.

In the win over IWU, Millward became just the third player in program history to eclipse the 100-point mark for his career. Already the program's all-time leader in assists (34), now ranks in a tie for fifth with 34 career goals and third with 102 career points (per the NCAA/NAIA Statistics and Rule Book: 2 points for a goal, 1 point for an assist).

Bellevue travels to Sioux City, Iowa tomorrow for a Top 25 match-up with #23 Morningside University (1-1-0) at 8 p.m. before returning home on Saturday, Sept. 11 for a 7 p.m. kick-off from Papillion Landing against (RV) McPherson College (3-1-0).
