Bruins sign four more to 2021 class

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University men's soccer coach Mark Heath-Preston announced today the signing of four student-athletes to Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at BU beginning in the fall.

Noor Hassan (Omaha, Neb./Omaha Central HS), Alex Jacobs (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-La Vista South HS), Daniel Gornell (Omaha, Neb./Oral Roberts), and Jake Cover (Gretna, Neb./Fort Hays State) have all signed Letters of Intent to attend BU and play for the Bruins.

The quartet joins earlier signees Sebastian Zapata (Armenia, Colombia/Iowa Lakes CC), Anthony Cox (Suffolk, England/Football Industry College), Buster Honeywood (Kessington, England/Football Industry College), Lucas Milhomen (Itapecerica de Serra, Brazil/Baker University), Antonio Capra (Santiago, Chile/Seminario Pontifico Menor), and Guilherme Alencar (Fortaleza, Brazil/Midland University) in the Bruins' 2021 signing class.

Bellevue posted a 16-5-2 overall mark this past season, winning both the A.I.I. Tournament Championship and the NAIA Opening Round - Olathe Bracket. The Bruins advanced to the Quarterfinals for the first time in program history after advancing to the NAIA National Tournament Final Site for the fifth time.

  • NFC team won three-straight state championships (2019-21)
  • NFC qualified for Midwest Reigonal Tournament 3 times (2019-21)

Daniel Gorman
Position: Midfielder

Oral Roberts University
Hometown: Omaha, Neb.

  • Redshirted at Oral Roberts in 2020-21
  • Scored 11 goals and 24 assists at Millard West
  • Two-time honorable mention All-State
  • 2020 State Cup Best XI
  • Played club for Sporting Omaha
  • Helped Sporting Omaha qualify for National League in 2017
  • Won three State Championships at Sporting Omaha
  • SOFC Boys Player of the Year

Jake Cover
Position: Forward
Previous School:
Fort Hays State University
Hometown: Gretna, Neb.

  • Played for Fort Hays State in 2020-21, making 1 appearance
  • Scored 48 goals and 21 assists in high school
  • Three-time all-ITG selection and 2018 ITG Player of the Year
  • Led Nebraska High Schoolers with 22 goals in 2018
  • Two-time first team all-state (2018 Class B, 2019 Class A)
  • Played club for Sporting Omaha FC 02
  • Helped SOFC 02 to 2017 State Championship and qualifying for Midwest Regional Championship
