Proclivity for goal scoring nets Aldao A.I.I. Player of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University senior Inaki Aldao (Buenos Aires, Argentina) was named the first Association of Independent Institutions' Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the 2020-21 season, as announced by the A.I.I. office on Monday morning.

Aldao has been a driving force in BU's hot start as Bellevue has begun the season with four-straight wins for the first time since 2010.

He currently leads the nation in game-winning goals (3) and ranks second nationally in both goals (7) and points (15).

Aldao has recorded the game-winning strike in the Bruins' wins over William Penn University, Concordia University, and Tabor College.

In all four games thus far, Aldao has recorded a goal or an assist.

Aldao set a program record in BU's 6-0 win at Tabor last Tuesday, scoring five times to break Rob Smith's mark of four goals in a game.

It makes second time in Aldao's Bruin career that he has received this award, having previously been recognized no Sept. 3, 2018.

The Bruins next scheduled game is set for Thursday, Sept. 24 at Oklahoma Wesleyan University with kick-off slated for 2 p.m. from the OKWU Soccer Complex.
