Millward cited as A.I.I. Player of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University junior midfielder Toby Millward (Kings Lynn, England) has been named the Association of Independent Institutions' (A.I.I.) Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the Week of Sept. 30-Oct. 7.

Toby Millward -- Player of the Week

Millward had a terrific week for the Bruins last week, scoring twice against No. 10-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan and registering a pair of assists in the Bruins' 5-1 triumph over Dordt on Saturday.

After missing nearly a month with an injury, Millward made his first start since his return against OKWU and scored twice in the second half against the Eagles.

In their win over Dordt, Millward assisted Andy Wilkinson's eventual game-winner with a well-struck free kick to give BU a 2-0 lead in the 14th minute. He then hit Ricky Reyes in stride on a run-over free kick who then played Inaki Aldao in the box where Aldao one-timed his shot for a 3-0 lead.

Millward becomes the third Bruin to win A.I.I. Player of the Week honors after Alex Cuenca and Andy Janssen were previously recognized on Sept. 9 and Sept. 16, respectively.

This is the first A.I.I. Player of the Week award for Millward, who earned NAIA Honorable Mention All-American Honors last season.
