Bruin Soccer announces a pair of  signings

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team, under Mark Heath-Preston, announced today the signings of Alexis Martinez (Omaha, Neb./Omaha South HS) and Kortlan Franke (Gretna, Neb./Gretna HS) to letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall of 2018.

Martinez is the son of Hayde Ramirez and Rolando Martinez and has two sisters, Cindy (15) and Jaylin (9). Martinez plays club soccer with SOFC under the guidance of Coach Karl Ostrand and obtained state titles in 2014 and 2015. Moreover, Martinez plays his high school soccer at Omaha South High School under Joe Mass.

Franke is the son of Krissy LaBar and Jason Franke. He also plays his club soccer in Omaha with SOFC under Coach Karl Ostrand. During his SOFC career Franke is a four-time state champion and was named MVP during the State Tournament. Additionally, Franke plays high school soccer at Gretna High School where he has contributed 21 goals and 12 assists throughout his Dragon career thus far. Furthermore, Franke was voted captain for Coach Dave Fisch for the 2017 season.

The duo join earlier signee Harry Atkins (Norwich, Norfolk, England) in the Bruins' 2018 recruiting class.

This past season the Bruins posted an overall mark of 8-7-2 (4-0-0 NSAA) en route to securing their fourth-straight regular-season league title.
