BELLEVUE, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team, under head coach Matt Briggs, has announced the signing of Brannon McIntosh (Bellevue, Neb./Bellevue East HS) to a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning in the fall of 2016.

The son of Paul and Shannon, McIntosh was coached by Stephen Muller at Bellevue East High School where he has played as a center back. The 6-0, 185 pound freshman-to-be instantly adds size to a back line which saw the loss of three seniors to graduation.

McIntosh played club soccer for the Bellevue Blue Devils for coach Eddy Santamaria out of Bellevue Soccer Club. He is the first signee of the 2016 recruiting season.

Matt Briggs on Brannon McIntosh:

"We are delighted to have signed Brannon to a national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Bellevue University. We feel very fortunate to have signed another young man from Bellevue who has the qualities to represent our program to the highest levels both on and off the pitch. Brannon has received great coaching from Coach Muller at Bellevue East and Coach Santamaria at Bellevue Soccer Club, and we expect him to push our current players immediately once he joins us in the fall. By signing Brannon I feel we continue to show a commitment to find the best local players and blend them in with international players offering a unique cultural experience for everyone involved."

Bellevue posted a 12-4-4 record this past season and finished ranked 17th in the postseason NAIA Coaches' Poll. The Bruins doubled-up on conference championships, claiming the North Star's regular season and tournament titles. After defeating USAO in the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round, the Bruins advanced to the final site for the second successive season and third time in program history.
