BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University senior Alan Carr (Lincolnshire, England) has been named a 2015 NAIA Soccer Honorable Mention All-American as announced by the NAIA today.
Carr led the Bruins to a terrific debut season in the North Star, winning both the conference regular-season and tournament championships.
This season Carr appeared in all 20 matches for the Bruins, splitting time as a center back and left back. He helped the team post nine clean sheets while limiting opponents to just 4.7 shots on goal per game. Carr against showed his capability as a two-way player, scoring a pair of goals and assisting on another this season. One of his goals proved to be a game-winner in a 2-0 triumph over fellow National Tournament qualifier Concordia (Neb.).
Carr was previously named the North Star Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year and first team all-NSAA. He is a three-time first team all-conference selection, four-time conference Defensive Player of the Week, and a reigning Omaha World-Herald NAIA all-Nebraska selection.
Bellevue wrapped up with 2015 season with a double-overtime defeat in the second round of the NAIA National Tournament. The Bruins compiled a 12-4-4 record for the season and went unbeaten in conference play (3-0-1) for the second straight season.
He becomes the second Bruin in as many years to be named an Honorable Mention All-America, after Manuel Lira earned the distinction in 2014.
