BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Junior goalkeeper Ben Martin (Lincolnshire, ENGLAND) has been named North Star Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the NSAA.

Martin was terrific on the week, leading Bellevue to an unbeaten record in a pair of conference matches. First, against a quality Jamestown side he stopped all three shots he faced to help BU to a 0-0 draw and followed that up with 76 sterling minutes against Presentation where he stopped the lone shot he faced in combining for the Bruins' second clean sheet of the week.

His impact was felt away from the stat sheet as well, directing his back line to be in great position in both matches which limited the opposition to a combined four attempts on frame. This is the first conference Defensive Player of the Week honor of Martin's career.

The 15th-ranked Bruins are 8-2-3 overall and 2-0-1 in the North Star. They travel to Hastings for a 7 p.m. kickoff later tonight.
