BELLEVUE, Neb. – Bellevue junior Kenan Sahuric (Lincoln, Neb.) has been named Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference. The award is the first such honor of Sahuric's career.

Sahuric, from his right back position, was active on both ends of the field as top-seeded Bellevue advanced to the MCAC Championship with a 2-0 victory over York College. He helped to anchor a defense which yielded just four shots - none on goal - to York and assisted on Rob Smith's goal which sealed the victory for the Bruins.

Nationally ranked at No. 18, Bellevue (14-2-1) will return to the pitch on Friday for a 2:00 p.m. match with Oklahoma Wesleyan University at Tranquility Park in Omaha for the MCAC Tournament Championship.

Bellevue has now advanced to the final of the MCAC Tournament in three straight seasons. The Bruins have yielded just 10 goals this season, their lowest total through 17 matches in school history.
