Bruins top Waldorf, 4-0, in MCAC Tournament

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team scored all four of its goals in the opening half en route to a 4-0 win versus Waldorf College in the MCAC Tournament semifinals Friday morning.

Bellevue (8-8-0) advances to the MCAC Tournament championship match against top-seeded Oklahoma Wesleyan University tomorrow (Nov. 16) at 1:00 p.m.

Waldorf ends its season with an overall record of 8-10-1.

Leigh Veidman netted a pair of goals in the 12th and 14th minutes of action to give BU an early 2-0 lead. Veidman leads the team with seven goals this season.

Manuel Lira scored the Bruins' third goal of the match at the 16:22 mark before Mitch Kavanagh added his first goal of the season in the 28th minute to give BU the 4-0 win.

Ben Martin earned his second win of the season in goal for BU and recorded three saves while Cesar Luevano took the loss for the Warriors.

The Bruins outshot WC, 18-12, and were led by Veidman's four shots, including three on goal.
