BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Despite recording five more shots, the Bellevue University men's soccer team fell to second-ranked Grand View University 1-0 Wednesday night at Bellevue East High School.
Grand View moved to 16-2-0 while Bellevue dropped to 6-8-0 overall.
The Vikings scored the lone goal of the match on Islam Hassan's goal off a pass on a free kick by Aaron Scott at 39:08 in the first half.
The Bruins outshot GVU by a 12-7 margin while the Vikings held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Manuel Lira paced the Bruins with a match-high three shots.
Erik Hundevad earned the win for the Vikings and stopped all six BU shots on goal. Scott Robertson (5-4-0) took the loss in goal for the Bruins and collected two saves.
BU will wrap-up the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 2 when they travel to Forest City, Iowa for a 10:00 a.m. conference match at Waldorf College.
