HASTINGS, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team posted a 3-1 upset win at top-ranked Hastings College Wednesday night in nonconference action at Lloyd Wilson Field.

With the win, Bellevue improved to 3-5-0 while Hastings suffered its first loss of the season and dropped to 7-1-0.

The Bruins struck first on Rob Jackson's goal in the 35th minute that beat Broncos' goalkeeper Alex Guyer.

Jackson netted his second goal of the match at the 55:53 mark on a shot from 18 yards out. Jackson leads the team with five goals this season.

BU added to its lead on Jamie Waters' first goal of the season on a corner kick by Jacob Cawsey at the 61:46 mark of the second half.

HC scored its lone goal of the match at 73:30 on Thomas Boss' shot that found the back of the net.

Scott Robertson improved to 2-1-0 after recording three second half saves in goal for the Bruins. Guyer registered six saves for HC.

The Broncos outshot BU, 12-11.

The Bruins will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 28 for a 1:00 p.m. contest at Ashford University.
