BU adds junior college goalkeeper transfer to 2013 recruiting class

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University men's soccer coach Matt Briggs announced today the signing of Scott Robertson (Burnley, England/Pratt CC/St. Theodore's RC HS) to the 2013 recruiting class. Robertson will begin his academic and athletic careers at BU beginning this fall.

Robertson, who was a team captain, earned second team all-conference and Kansas Junior College Athletic Association all-regional honors in 2012.

"Scott is another great signing for us and will add a little bit of experience to our team after completing two years at Pratt Community College," said Briggs.

A native of Burnley, England, Robertson is the son of Trudie and Brian, and is majoring in liberal studies at Bellevue.

He recorded a 13-6 record with four shutouts in goal for the Beavers last season.

"Scott will compete with Ben Martin, Billy Loera and Daniel Lastra for the number one goalkeeper position this season," added Briggs. "We are delighted to have signed Scott and look forward to having him join the Bruins for the 2013-14 season."

Robertson joins earlier signees Emiliano Jacinto (Omaha, Neb.), David Goolsby (Bellevue, Neb), Jack Coles (Cardiff, Wales), Lee Willmore (Norfolk, England), Jake Williams (Hale, England) and Ben Martin (Lincolnshire, England) in this year's recruiting class.

Bellevue ended the 2012 season with a 10-8-1 overall record. The Bruins finished second in the MCAC regular season standings with a 5-1 conference mark and also placed second in the MCAC Tournament to No. 3-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
