Bruins down Waldorf, 3-1, for seventh-straight win

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team got goals from three separate players as the Bruins won their seventh-straight game with a 3-1 victory over Waldorf College in MCAC action Wednesday night at Tranquility Park. 

Bellevue improved to 8-6-1 on the season and remained undefeated in the MCAC at 5-0. Waldorf fell to 2-12-0 overall and 0-4 in league action. 

Jamie Waters gave the Bruins an early 1-0 lead, scoring his third goal of the season at 9:26 off a pass from Corey Smith. Waldorf tied the game up at 1-1 on an own goal just 39 seconds before halftime. 

The Bruins regained the lead in the 65th minute with an unassisted goal by Ryan Beasley, his second of the season. Beasley scored on a lob shot from 40 yards out that sailed over Warrior goalie Olmos Alejandro.

Bellevue added an insurance goal with Graeme Eaglesham's team-leading seventh goal of the year at 67:41 on a penalty kick. 

BU held a commanding 24-7 advantage in shots and a 6-5 margin in shots on goal. Luke Baxter improved to 6-5 on the season, collecting three saves in the win. 

The Bruins will be idle until next Wednesday, Oct. 24, when they travel to Des Moines, Iowa to take on Grand View University at 7 p.m.
