BU scores four unanswered goals, top CBC, 4-1

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team scored four unanswered goals en route to a 4-1 win against Central Baptist College Saturday afternoon in Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Tranquility Park.

With the win, Bellevue improved to 3-12-1 and 3-0-1 in league play while Central Baptist slipped to 6-8-1 and 1-3-0 in the MCAC.

The Mustangs opened the scoring in the 14th minute on a goal by Matt Cole.

The Bruins tied the game in the 25th minute when Tom Dodds scored on a loose ball in front of the net following a pass by Graeme Eaglesham.

Bellevue took a 2-1 lead when Michael Conchie took a cross pass from Sam Porter and scored from 14 yards out to the left corner of the net at 34:09 in the first half.

Conchie scored his second goal of the match at 47:17 on a penalty kick after CBC goalkeeper Chance Murphy was called for a foul in the box.

Eaglesham made the score 4-1, collecting his team-leading eighth goal of the season on a cross pass from Juan Narvaez at 57:21.

In goal, Luke Baxter notched one save in the win for the Bruins while Murphy recorded four for the Mustangs.

The Bruins out shot the Mustangs 25-5 including an 8-2 edge in shots on goal. Conchie recorded a match-high nine shots, four on goal to lead BU.

The BU men's soccer team will play its final home match of the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 26 when they welcome Grand View University to Tranquility Park for a 7:00 p.m. kick-off.
