Yellowjackets sting Bruins, 5-1

LAMONI, Iowa --  Graceland University scored two goals in just under three minutes in the first half to help propel the Yellowjackets to a 5-1 win over the Bellevue University men's soccer team Tuesday night.

With the win, Graceland improved to 3-1-1, while the Bruins fell to 0-4-0.

BU opened the scoring in the 11th minute on Graeme Eaglesham's second goal of the season on a pass from David Lastra.

The Yellowjackets answered just one minute later on a goal by Andy Quintanilla. GU took the lead in the 15th minute on an unassisted goal by Aaron Crains.

GU added three goals in the second half, including two by Brady Blankenship. Blankenship converted on a penalty kick at the 61:43 mark and scored on a header in the 74th minute. The Yellowjackets scored their final goal of the match on a goal by Sandaly Traore with just 23 seconds remaining.

Juan Cale made his first career start and registered nine saves.

The Yellowjackets held a slight edge in shots, 21-19, including a 14-9 advantage in shots on goal.

The Bruins will return to action on Friday, Sept. 9 with a 3:00 p.m. contest scheduled against Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hastings, Neb.
