Bruins storm back for 3-2 win over Jimmies

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team scored three unanswered second-half goals, two from David Lastra,  to overcome a two-goal deficit, as the Bruins registered a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Jamestown College Monday afternoon at Tranquility Park.

The Bruins improved to 11-4-1 on the season, while the Jimmes dropped to 7-6-3 overall.

Ryan Kuhry's shot from inside the box on a loose ball following a corner kick gave Jamestown an early 1-0 lead in the sixth minute.

The Jimmies made it 2-0 at 52:37 with a header from Gerrit Haerter off a cross into the box from Kuhry.

Bellevue cut the lead in half two minutes later with a goal by Tom White on a shot in the box. Brady Batchelor and Ryan Beasley were both credited with the assist.

David Lastra tied it up at 61:49 with a header in front of the net off a cross pass from James Evison.

Lastra scored the gamewinner with just over six minutes remaining in the game on a shot into the lower right corner of the net following a pass from White to the left side.

Sebastian Narvaez got the win, improving to 10-4-1 on the season, recording five saves, while playing all 90 minutes in goal.

Bellevue outshot the Jimmies 17-11. Both teams had eight shots on goal.

The Bruins will travel to Des Moines, Iowa on Wednesday (Oct. 27) for a 7 p.m. match at 15th-ranked Grand View University.
