OMAHA, Neb. -- Leon Kita, David Lastra, and Julio Estrada all scored second-half goals as the Bellevue University men's soccer team posted a 3-1 MCAC victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon at Tranquility Park.
The Bruins improved to 10-4-1 on the season and 3-0 in the MCAC. OWU fell to 9-3-3 and 0-1-1 in league action.
After a scoreless first half, Lastra registered his sixth goal of the season at 51:27 on a shot near the endline into the far lower right corner of the net past Eagle goalkeeper Vladan Glavonic.
Oklahoma Wesleyan tied the game on a goal by Lucas Almeida with just under six minutes remaining in the game.
The Bruins wasted no time in regaining the lead as Kita scored the gamewinner on a rebound off Glavonic following a free kick from Ryan Cantello at 84:55.
Bellevue added an insurance goal on a score by Estrada with 16 seconds remaining in the contest. Goalkeeper Sebastian Narvaez was credited with the assist.
Bellevue held a 21-10 advantage in shots and an 8-3 margin in shots on goal.
Narvaez improved to 9-4-1 on the season, recording two saves in the win.
Bellevue returns to Tranquility Park on Monday (Oct. 25) for a 2 p.m match against Jamestown College.
