OMAHA, Neb. -- Hastings' Derek Prinz scored a pair of goals to lead the fourth-ranked Broncos to a 5-1 victory over No. 22 Bellevue University in non-conference men's soccer action Wednesday night at Creighton's Morrison Stadium.
Bellevue suffered its third-straight loss, following to 5-3 on the season. Hastings improved to 7-0 overall.
Hastings got on the board early when Prinz scored on a header in the box following a corner kick by Yannic Thiel at 3:22.
The Broncos increased the margin to 2-0 on Chico Hernandez' header in the box off a pass from Ryan Robinson at 36:27.
Nate Polack made it a three-goal advantage in the 55th minute with a goal from five yards out off a cross in front of the net from Greg Dodds.
Bellevue cut the lead to 3-1 two minutes later on a penalty kick goal from James Evison at 56:20.
Prinz scored his second goal of the game at 67:01 on a free kick from near midfield.
Jorge Olivas scored in the 83rd minute on a shot in the box following a rebound off the post to complete the game's scoring at 5-1.
Hastings outshot BU 19-6 and held a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal.
The Bruins will open conference play on Saturday, Oct. 2 when they travel to York, Neb. for a 3:30 p.m. match at York College.
