Bruins shut out Southern Nazarene, 3-0

HASTINGS, NEB. -- After a scoreless first half, the Bruins netted three goals in the second half en route to a 3-0 shutout win over Southern Nazarene University Saturday night in the Hastings College Classic.

With the win, Bellevue improved to 5-0 on the season, while SNU dropped to 0-4 overall.

The Bruins got on the board five minutes into the second half after a shot by Mark Heath-Preston caromed off the cross bar, back to Michael Conchie who shot it past SNU goal keeper Ricky Cabello.

Bellevue scored again in the 79th minute after David Lastra notched his second goal of the weekend following a cross across the box by Brady Batchelor.

James Evison got the final goal of the night at 87:54 after taking a pass by Batchelor and sending it to the lower left side of the goal.

Senior Sebastian Narvaez recorded his fourth shutout of the year, playing all 90 minutes in goal, while recording three saves on the night.

Southern Nazarene outshot Bellevue, 15-14, but the Bruins held an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal.
The Bruins will host 10th-ranked Hastings College at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at Tranquility Park.
