KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team earned a No. 16 national seed, qualifying for the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship for the second-straight year and the second time in school history. The Bruins will travel to Mishawaka, Ind. for an Opening Round match on Saturday, Nov. 21. at Bethel (Ind.) College. Game time has yet to be determined.

The Bruins (13-3-1) earned an automatic berth into the National Championship after capturing the MCAC-FAC-DAC Independent Tournament title with a 2-0 shutout on Saturday over the University of Great Falls.

The Pilots (18-0-1) clinched an automatic berth to the National Championship after capturing the Mid-Central College Conference title following Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Indiana Wesleyan University in the MCC Tournament title game. Bethel is ranked No. 8 in the latest NAIA national poll.

The Bruins are 0-1 all-time in the National Championship after dropping an opening round game last season to eventual national champion, Bethel (Tenn.).

2009 marks the eighth appearance for Bethel College in the NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship. The Pilots have a 2-8-2 overall record in championship play.

The winner of next Saturday’s National Championship Opening Round match will advance to the National Championship final site from Nov. 30 - Dec. 5 in Fresno, Calif.
