BISMARCK, N.D. -- Bellevue University senior Rodrigo Navarette (Guadalajara, Mexico), fresh off winning the Flyer Intercollegiate, collected North Star Athletic Association Men's Golfer of the Week honors on Wednesday.
The award is the 10th such honor in Navarrete's distinguished Bruin career.
Navarrete shot a 4-under 140 to win the 63-golfer event, carding a 3-under 69 in Monday's first round and backing it up with a 1-under 71 to secure the victory on Tuesday. He tapped in for 10 birdies across 36 holes to counter just four bogeys and a double-bogey.
He led a trio of Bruin golfers atop the individual standings as Bellevue captured their third tournament title of the season.
Bellevue next plays at the Kohler Collegiate Classic at Whistling Straits from Monday, Oct. 17-Tuesday, Oct. 18 in Kohler, Wis.
