BISMARCK, N.D. -- Bellevue University junior Hugo Ronnberg (Stockholm, Sweden), after sharing the individual title and leading Bellevue to the team title at the Mid-South Classic last week, has been recognized by the North Star Athletic Association as the NSAA Men's Golfer of the Week.
Ronnberg is the second-straight Bruin to earn NSAA Golfer of the Week honors, joining last week's winner Alex Zillig.
He opened the 54-hole even by shooting a 2-under 70 and was just two shots back after one round of play. He backed that up with a matching second round later on Monday to move into a tie for the individual lead. A 1-under third round saw him finish in a tie for first place and qualify for a three-golfer playoff.
As a team, Bellevue shot 9-under (855) for the event, erasing an 8-stroke deficit in the final round to defeat Wayland Baptist who finished at 4-under (860).
The award is the second of Ronnberg's Bruin career, after having been previously recognized last Sept. 22.
Bellevue next competes Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 19-20 at the Northwest Iowa Invitational at Willow Creek Golf Course in Le Mars, Iowa.
