Araujo honored again as NSAA Player of the Week

MADISON, S.D. -- For the second-straight week and the third time this season, senior Paulo Araujo has been named the North Star Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performances in the Bruins' road split at Presentation College and Mayville State University last weekend. 

Araujo scored 22 points in each contest while averaging 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. 

In BU's 58-55 win over Presentation, Araujo was 7-of-11 from the field while draining 4-of-7 from behind the arc. He was 4-of-4 from the charity stripe and added four rebounds and an assist, and a steal. 

He followed that up with 22 points, seven rebounds, and two steals in the Bruins' 83-82 overtime loss at league-leader Mayville State. Araujo connected on a 3-pointer with four seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime. 

In the two contests, Araujo finished 9-of-10 from the free throw line and was 7-of-14 from long range. 

Araujo currently ranks second in the league in scoring at 15.9 points per game and is third in 3-point field goal percentage at 48.1 percent.   

The Bruins will continue their four-game conference road swing when they travel to Forest City, Iowa, this Friday, Jan. 20, for a 7:30 p.m. contest at Waldorf University.
