KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced today the 64 qualifiers and the match-ups for the 2022 NAIA National Tournament.
The Opening Round features 16, four-team pods with the 16 winners advancing to the NAIA National Tournament Final Site in Kansas City, Mo. where those games will be played over the span of a week at the Municipal Auditorium.
The Bellevue University men's basketball team will be the fourth seed in the Opening Round – Oskaloosa Bracket and meet top-seeded William Penn University next Friday, Mar. 11. Joining the Bruins and WPU in the Oskaloosa Bracket are No. 2 seed Indiana University Kokomo and No. 3 seed Dordt University.
The winners of the two Friday games meet on Saturday with a berth to the Final Site on the line.
Bellevue (20-12) is making their 21st National Tournament appearance – and second-straight – after claiming the North Star Athletic Association's lone automatic bid by defeating Viterbo 69-65 to win last weekend's NSAA Tournament Championship.
William Penn (30-1) won the Heart of America Athletic Association Regular-Season and Tournament crowns for the third-straight season to secure their bid.
IU Kokomo (29-3) qualified as the regular-season and tournament champions of the River States Conference while Dordt (20-10) earned an at-large selection.
