Former coach and analyst Mike Jarvis to speak at 6th Annual Men's Basketball Gala

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University will host the 6th annual Men's Basketball Gala on Friday, Sept. 16. The Gala, which will once against be held in the John B. Muller Administrative Services Building Garden-Level Symposium Room, will feature keynote speaker Mike Jarvis, former coach and current Fox Sports analyst.

The event begins with a 6:00 p.m. social hour leading in to a 7:00 p.m. dinner.

The Bellevue men's basketball program invites you to hear Mike Jarvis speak as he shares what he has learned coaching basketball and how those lessons and experiences relate off-the-court.

The money raised from the event will be used to cover Bruin Basketball travel and equipment costs as well as academic support such as tutors, books, fees, and more.

Ryan Sears:

  • Coached in six NIT and eight NCAA Tournaments
  • Reached the Sweet 16 in 1993 and Elite 8 in 1999
  • Former head coach at Boston University, George Washington University, St. John's University, and Florida Atlantic Univeristy
  • Named National Coach of the Year by the Black Coaches Association in 1998
  • Current basketball analyst with Fox Sports
  • Author of "Skills for Life" and "Everybody Needs a Head Coach"
