BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Senior \#Jace Fredenburg\# scored a career high 23 points to lead five Bruins in double figures as the Bellevue University men's basketball team posted a 95-53 win over Haskell Indian Nations University Friday night at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. The win clinched the MCAC regular season title for the Bruins as Bellevue improved to 10-1 in league action and 22-7 overall.

The loss dropped Haskell to 5-24 on the season and 3-9 in the MCAC.

Fredenburg also added a game-high four steals in the win. Joining Fredenburg in double figures was sophomore \#Jelani Johnson\# (12), senior \#Ron King\# (11), freshman \#Marcos Perez\# (10), and sophomore \#Ousseynou Diop\# (10).

DJ Fish led the Indians with 20 points and four assists.

The Bruins shot 62.5 percent in the first half and held Haskell scoreless for the first four minutes of the game in racing out to a 14-0 lead. The Bellevue defense held the Indians to 12.9 percent shooting in the opening period and forced 13 turnovers as Bellevue built a commanding 55-12 halftime advantage.

After connecting on just four field goals in the opening period, Haskell heated up in the second half, shooting 46.9 percent after the break and drawing as close as 39 points on three occasions.

Bellevue will conclude the regular season on Saturday (Feb. 20) when it hosts Central Christian College beginning at 5 p.m. in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center. Prior to the game, the Bruins will honor the team's five seniors: Antoine Dade, Jace Fredenburg, Ron King, Richard Marion and Josh Vanderslice.
