BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Junior \#Avery Tyler\# scored 25 points and senior \#Antoine Dade\# recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 12 points and 16 rebounds as the 19th-ranked Bellevue University men's basketball upset No. 1-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University, 81-70, Saturday night in front of a season-high 574 fans at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.

The Bruins snapped OWU's 39-game winning streak while improving to 18-6 on the year. Bellevue has now won 15-straight games and is in sole possession of first place in the MCAC standings at 6-0. Oklahoma Wesleyan, the defending National Champions, fell to 21-1 overall and 5-1 in the MCAC.

Sophomore \#Jelani Johnson\# added 11 points and \#Ousseynou Diop\# narrowly missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Steve Briggs led the Eagles with 21 points, but was 7-of-24 from the field as OWU was held to a season-low 70 points on 30 percent shooting. Mike McNeil collected a double-double for the Eagles with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Tyler's 10-foot jumper one minute into the second half gave the Bruins their first lead of the game at 41-40.  After the Eagles regained the lead on a Briggs' baseline jumper a minute later, Bellevue went on an 11-1 run over the next four minutes and never looked back.

A putback by Diop gave the Bruins their biggest lead of the game at 62-49 at the 9:16 mark. The Eagles clawed their way back, pulling to within four points following a Briggs' 3-pointer with just over three minutes remaining.

Bellevue responded with consecutive 3-pointers by \#Ron King\# and \#Jace Fredenburg\# and nailed four free throws in the final minute to seal the 81-70 victory.

The Bruins will travel to Point Lookout, Mo. next Friday for a 7:30 p.m. contest at College of the Ozarks. Video has no source Url in height="340" width="560">
