BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Senior \#Antoine Dade\# recorded his fifth double-double of the season with 22 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Bellevue University men's basketball team to an 84-79 victory over York College in MCAC action Friday night at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
The Bruins ran their win streak to 12 games, improving to 15-6 overall and 3-0 in the MCAC. The Panthers lost their sixth-straight game, falling to 8-10 on the season and 0-3 in league play.
Dade's 18 rebounds tied a career high. He also added three assists in the win.
Junior \#Avery Tyler\# poured in 20 points. Senior \#Jace Fredenburg\# narrowly missed a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds.
The Panthers were led by Corey Standerfer, who recorded 22 points and seven rebounds.
Dade already collected a double-double in the first half, registering 11 points and 11 rebounds before intermission. Bellevue held a commanding 31-15 advantage in rebounds in the opening period and finished with a 54-39 edge.
Dade's layup with 50 seconds remaining in first half gave the Bruins their largest advantage in the opening 20 minutes at 41-31.
Tyler's 3-point play with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game gave Bellevue its largest lead at 62-45.
York went on a 17-6 run over the next six minutes to whittle the Bruin advantage to six points at 68-62. That was as close as the Panthers would get as BU hit 13 free throws in the final three minutes to seal the 84-73 victory.
Bellevue will host Peru State on Saturday (Jan. 23) at 5 p.m. in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
